About

Hi there! My name is Rachele Ruddy. My passion has always been in reading, spelling, punctuation, and grammar and that's why I've become a transcript proofreader for hardworking court reporters! My goal is to help make your job easier by providing you with refined transcripts that make YOU shine!

I'm a lifelong lover of books and reading. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2013 with a bachelor of arts in European history and a bachelor of arts in film & digital media. Since then, I've worked in the film and hospitality industries, and in 2017 I started working with kids with disabilities as an instructional aide in school and as a behavior technician using Applied Behavior Analysis to teach skills and behaviors. Recently, I've decided to switch gears and pursue my passion for reading and proofreading.

My training includes Transcript Proofreading: Theory & Practice, which is an extensive course based on NCRA guidelines, Margie Wakeman Wells' Court Reporting: Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation, and Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters. These are the references I consult while proofreading as well as The Gregg Reference Manual (10th Edition), The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation (12th Edition), and Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

If you're a busy court reporter who is swamped with work, or you want more time for yourself, your family, your life; I'm here to help!

Spotting errors is what I do best, so let me help you! My core values are helping others and making a difference, so rest assured you are in good hands. I'm committed to producing high-quality work with excellent standards and customer service as a proofreader.
